API’s & Mashup’s
Application Programming Interface (API) is a term applied to all types of software applications. It allows you to interact with an application through a set of functions. An API lets you access and share data. It creates another way of experiencing the information sourced. The software that provides the functionality described by an API is said to be an implementation of the API.
API’s change the way people interact with a service as it develops different ways of experiencing the same information.
A Mashup uses API’s by combining data from two or more sources into one single application. It usually produces results that were not the original reason for producing the original data source.
